Flying to Tirana for Dental Treatment

Most of our patients arrive by plane, so the whole system is built around it. Here is what travelling for dental care really involves, including the scheduling truths other sites bury.

One trip or two? The honest scheduling guide

The single most useful thing to know before booking flights: not all dental treatment fits in one visit, and any plan that pretends otherwise is borrowing trouble. As a reliable rule, crowns, veneers, bonding, whitening, root treatments and gum therapy complete in one stay of several days to a week, because the clinic and laboratory can finish their loop while you are here. Implant treatments almost always need two trips: one to place implants, one to fit final teeth after 3–6 months of bone healing.

Your written plan states your visit count and day-by-day schedule before you book anything, so flights, annual leave and expectations all land on the same truth.

What we organise around you

  • VIP airport transfers, a driver meets you at Tirana International Airport and covers every clinic journey.
  • Hotel assistance, including 5-star options within easy reach of the clinic.
  • A multilingual coordinator, one person, your language, from first WhatsApp to final follow-up.
  • Appointment sequencing around your flights, including laboratory schedules.
  • Aftercare continuity, written instructions, remote check-ins and an emergency line once you are home.

Documents and practicalities

  • Bring your passport, any existing X-rays or dental records, and a list of medications you take.
  • Citizens of the EU, UK, US and many other countries visit Albania without a visa for short stays, check your country’s current rules before booking.
  • Albania uses the lek (ALL); cards are widely accepted in Tirana and euros are commonly quoted for medical services.
  • A companion is welcome, we help plan hotels and transfers for two.

The assessment is free, remote and commitment-free, the sensible first step is to learn what your mouth needs before you think about flights at all.

Questions

International patient FAQ

How soon can I get an appointment?

After your free photo review and written plan, treatment visits are typically scheduled within weeks, coordinated around your flights and, for staged plans, around clinical healing windows.

What if I need help during the stay?

Your coordinator is one message away throughout, and an emergency line covers urgent concerns. You will not be navigating a foreign health system alone.

Can I pay by card?

Payment terms and accepted methods are confirmed in writing with your treatment plan before you travel, no on-the-day financial surprises.

Is Tirana safe for medical travel?

Tirana is a lively, walkable European capital that hosts growing numbers of medical travellers. Normal city awareness applies, as anywhere. Your transfers are driven, and the clinic area is central and busy.

What happens if I need adjustment after returning home?

Photo review and guidance first, many small issues resolve locally with our advice. For staged plans, the follow-up visit includes a full clinical review. Significant warranty matters are handled case by case as documented in your plan.
